Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury (Sakib) (b.1981, Bangladesh)
An alumnus of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is known for his interdisciplinary artistic practice. His work is explored through various media ranging from installation, assemblage, kinetic sculpture, video, collage, text, sculpture, performance, photography and others. Chowdhury is a recipient of the Samdani Art Award, Dhaka Art Summit 2018, for his work entitled ‘The Soul Who Fails to Fly into the Space’. He has participated in a number of group exhibitions which include ‘Chobi Mela [X]’, Dhaka, Bangladesh (2019); ‘Finger on the Pulse’, Akar Prakar Contemporary, India (2018); ‘Entangled Reality’, Vienna, Austria (2017); ‘Self Identity’, National museum, Dhaka, Bangladesh (2016); ‘Mourn’, Dhaka Art Center, Bengal Foundation (2012); ‘Only God Can Judge Me’(OGCJM); Coke Factory, Dhaka (2012); and ‘How Are You?’, Community Space Litmus gallery, South Korea (2012). Chowdhury has completed a residency at Delfina Foundation, London (2018).
