Bengal Arts Programme is seeking candidates for the post of Assistant Manager [Administration]. This is a call for a full-time position. Applications are invited from individuals who have the requisite experience in the field of art administration.
Job Title: Assistant Manager, Administration
Organisation Profile: The Arts Programme of Bengal Foundation (BAP) supports the practice and understanding of visual arts in Bangladesh. Rooted in its local context, the Programme acts as a platform where artists, curators and researchers can exchange ideas and pursue their practice all year long, on a day-to-day basis.
BAP’s approach is comprehensive: its aim is to foster an arts ecosystem within which critical discourse, curatorial practice and contemporary artistic creation mutually reinforce each other. Its actions are incremental: it mounts small or medium-sized projects of uncompromising quality, while always trying to maximise their impact on the local and regional arts scene. All the events it proposes are entirely not for profit.
Job Description: An Assistant Manager of Administration works closely with the rest of the BAP team to implement all the internal programming including exhibitions, residencies, workshops, art talks and other events. This is a full-time position based in Dhaka. The responsibilities of an Assistant Manager of Administration include:
• Manage all administrative tasks of BAP
• Coordinate with all team members of BAP
• Coordinate, track and report programme and event expenses of BAP
• Coordinate logistics and operations issues of BAP
• Manage programmes, events and inquiries related to BAP
• Manage BAP’s communications; writing press releases and reports, and ensure consistent and creative online presence, on social media and website.
• Liaise with artists, collaborate with organisations, external bodies
• Coordinate publishing, editorial and printing tasks
• Assist in writing fundraising and grant proposals
• Coordinate with other teams of Bengal Foundation, on behalf of BAP
• Ensure timely reporting to senior managers and maintain close dialogue with team members of BAP
• Maintain timely coordination with Bengal Foundation HR regarding BAP staff and personnel
Qualifications and Required Skills:
• At least 2 years professional experience in the field of Arts Management
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management/Social Sciences/related discipline
• Strong communication, writing and editing skills in Bengali and English
• Strong organizational skill
• Energetic, motivated and focused, with the ability to take initiative and solve problems
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work within teams
• Ability to adjust to flexible hours and deliver tasks within tight deadlines
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator and related
