Zihan Karim is an audio-visual artist from Bangladesh. He is known to work with a range of media which includes moving image, installation, sound and painting. Karim’s artworks are known to create a dialogue between the real and the virtual. He stages interventions in the cityscape using film projections and tries to lead his viewers into a perceptual world through his work. Karim is a recipient of the Honourable Mention Award at Bangladesh Asian art Biennale in 2012 and 2016. He is a core member of the ‘Jog art space’ collective.

An alumnus of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is known for his interdisciplinary artistic practice. His work is explored through various media ranging from installation, assemblage, kinetic sculpture, video, collage, text, sculpture, performance, photography and others. Chowdhury is a recipient of the Samdani Art Award, Dhaka Art Summit 2018, for his work entitled ‘The Soul Who Fails to Fly into the Space’.

The Ganesh Haloi Bengal Research Grant was set up to develop research and critical writing about the arts in Bangladesh and its region. It targets projects which make a significant contribution to the understanding of the arts in the region of Bengal.

The Subir Choudhury Practice Grant for emerging artists and curators is a biennial grant set up to encourages innovative artistic and curatorial practices in Bangladesh. It is alternatively attributed to artists and curators, and focuses on developing practices for which its reception will make a meaningful contribution.

The Aminul Islam Young Artists Award recognises original and creative artistic endeavours in Bangladesh. It is granted biennially by an independent jury to two young artists active in the country.
