The impetus for this publication is directly linked to Asian Curatorial forum which took place in February 2017 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The forum was organised by Bengal Foundation and Britto Arts Trust in Dhaka, as well as the National Culture and Arts Foundation (NCAF) and Taipei National University of Arts’s Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (KdMoFA) in Taiwan. The forum took place in Dhaka at Shilpakala Academy over a number of days. Besides presenters from Bangladesh and Taiwan, the event also included Southeast Asian and Asian researchers and curators from South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia as well as South Asian curators from India, Nepal, Srilanka, Maldives and Pakistan. The book is composed of commissioned texts and interviews. The book belongs to all the contributors of this project and all the arts practitioners contributing quietly in different corners of Asia.
